WOODRUFF KEYSEAT DIMENSIONS

Woodruff shaft keyseat is a circular pocket in which the woodruff key is retained. Hub keyseat (keyway) is an axially located rectangular groove in a hub. An arbor type or shank type milling cutter normally used for milling Woodruff keyseats in shafts. Woodruff keyseat dimensions and tolerances are covered in ASME B17.2 standard and this page has been prepared according to this standard.
