MATERIAL PROPERTIES

Material properties are physical properties of materials which shall be assesed as a selection criteria for a given application. Some of the material properties, which directly affect the choice of material, are yield and tensile strength, ductility, poisson’s ratio, density, modulus of elasticity, coefficient of thermal expansion, specific heat etc. Following charts are intended to give material properties of some of aluminum alloys, steel alloys, titanium alloys, cast irons, copper alloys, polymers, ideal gases and liquids.
