Mass moment of inertia is a measure of an object's resistance to rotational velocity about an axis. The mass moment of inertia is also known as the rotational inertia and used to calculate angular momentum and angular
kinetic energy. The units of mass moment of inertia are kg.m2 and lb.in2.
The mass moment of inertia is denoted by I. Following moment of inertia calculators have been developed to calculate mass moment of inertia values of typical bodies such as cylinder, hollow cylinder (shaft), rectangular plate, sphere and hollow sphere.
The formulas and parameters used in the calculators are given in
the "List of Equations" sections
of the calculators.
